The numbers tell a clear story: People in Thailand and Indonesia are watching more YouTube than ever. But what’s the story behind those millions of hours of watch time? The client asked us to find out: What keeps people coming back to watch more YouTube? What is YouTube’s role in people’s everyday lives?
Method & Results:
To find out, we spent time with YouTube viewers in Jakarta and Bangkok. We especially focused on two groups: beauty vloggers followers and Consumer Electronics fans. We recruited them in the field and followed 8 of them in each city. In a B2B approach, this helped YouTube make a stronger argument when talking with major Brands in the world of Beauty or Consumer Electronics.
